JOHN HINCHLIFFE

John is the owner of Snainton Golf Centre and qualified as a golf professional in 1995 at the age of 23.

After searching for a qualified position in the UK his parents discovered a driving range for sale near them in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. The range was originally called Hazel Hall and had been developed by a local farmer in 1990.

Hazel Hall Driving Range suffered from a severe lack of investment. John took over the freehold business and after a year of trading the turnover had increased minimally so a major decision had to be made. Either cut his losses and sell up, or rebuild the range which meant installing even the most basic supplies such as water and electricity. John decided on the latter, building work began and Snainton Golf Centre was born.

MATTHEW CONNER

Matthew Conner began his career in Filey before moving to Snainton in Spring 2005.

Matthew is the resident teaching Professional and manages all the coaching programmes including Adults, Juniors and Groups and has built up an excellent reputation in the region. 

He has cultivated strong relationships with the local schools and 6th form colleges and has worked with the English Blind Society. 

SIMON BODDY

Simon was a Golf Professional at Southcliff Golf Club in Scarborough for 7 years, before joining Snainton Golf Centre in April 2009. 

Simon duties include processing internet orders, stock management, providing technical advice on products and equipment and Customer Service.

STEVE MONAGHAN

Steve began working for Snainton Golf Centre in June 2006 and had previously worked within sales based roles and is a keen, regular golfer with a handicap of 2.

Steve handles stock control across the business, manages despatch of internet and ebay orders, Customer Service, and provides technical advice on products and equipment.

TONY LOWERY

Tony joined the team in 1998 and is the longest serving member of the team. He was instrumental in the early days for the growth of the business and his background is in banking. 

He is employed as the Groundsman/Greenkeeper and responsible for the immaculate condition of the course all year round.

PETE COLEMAN

Pete has been with the company for seven years and is in sales.  He has played golf from a very young age to a high standard.  Pete works in the Pro Shop and caters for all your needs.

ANDY ALLCOCK

Andy supports the team with his customer service skills, is involved with handling internet sales plus he takes and processes telephone orders.

JAMES BLENKINSOPP

James provides customer service support, is part of the internet sales team and assists with taking telephone orders.

RYAN DIUGA

Ryan provides customer service support. 

TOM FAIRWEATHER

Tom is responsible for updating content on the shop website and involved in stock control.

BEV HINCHLIFFE

Bev is John's wife and undertakes a variety of roles namely stock control, website administration and staff recruitment.

CLAIRE LEAVER

Claire joined the team in October 2009 to undertake marketing activity for the Centre and its facilities. 

She has a marketing background and has worked for 3 blue chip companies over the years including Sara Lee Foodservice, Best Western Hotels and UCI Cinemas.
